Outback Adventures is a comprehensive outdoor guide service, rental shop, and specialty outdoor retailer located in the San Francisco Bay Area. At both our San Jose and Marin retail locations we operate a full service kayak store, nordic ski shop, and outdoor gear rental business. In Marin we offer on-water kayak demos and sell a wide selection of technical outdoor clothing and accessories.

After opening our doors in 1999, Outback Adventures has been recognized as the Bay Area's outdoor education leader. Rather than subcontracting guide and instructional services, we develop, lead, and instruct all of our Bay Area trips and classes. This ensures a consistent and safe experience, lower prices, and familiar faces. No other company offers such a diverse range of programs all under one roof.

Although not technically a family business, Outback Adventures has always operated its business in this way. Outback Adventures was created and developed with the help and dedication of a few good friends and family, and to this day not much has changed.
