Big Sur/ Ventana Wilderness

The Ventana Wilderness is located south of Monterey on the Pacific coast where miles of rugged coastline and spectacular mountains give the backpacker plenty of varied terrain- suitable for all abilities. The mountains hold many surprises, including natural Hot Springs, redwoods, spectacular vistas, and the perennial Big Sur River. Trails climb up ridges out of the lush forests, and take the backpacker into hillside meadows with extensive views of the surrounding mountains and the coast. A trip to California’s central coast will not soon be forgotten.
