Stevens Creek Reservoir
Location Description

Stevens Creek ReservoirSteven Creek Reservoir is a 92 acre non-power boating reservoir, conveniently located in the South Bay foothills near Highway 280 in Cupertino. The reservoir provides paddlers with peace and quiet, warm yet refreshing water, and abundant wildlife. These qualities combine to make Stevens Creek Reservoir a great kayaking destination.

Stevens Creek Reservoir is Outback Adventures’ home base for kayak rentals and kayaking instruction.

The warm, protected lake waters provide a perfect training ground to learn basic kayak skills before heading out onto one of Outback’s intermediate and advanced courses in the ocean environment. During peak season, groups can be found meeting under our canopy on the boat ramp almost every weekend. Remember to pre-register for your course!

The reservoir is also a great place to try out a kayak you have been thinking about buying. Almost all kayaks that we sell in our retail store can be tried out at Stevens Creek, just be sure to call ahead to set up an appointment.

Just a short jaunt from the hustle and bustle of the greater San Jose Area, Stevens Creek Dam is ideal for people looking for a different outdoor activity to do on a weekend afternoon. In addition to kayak rentals and instruction, this Santa Clara County Park offers an array of outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, picnicking, and mountain biking.

Outback Adventures’ kayak rental facility is located on the boat ramp in the main parking lot. Hourly kayak rentals are available every weekend starting mid-May through early September, from 11:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. For pricing and more specific information please visit the Stevens Creek Reservoir Kayak Rentals page. To see more pictures of the reservoir, please see the Stevens Creek Reservoir picture gallery.
