Stevens Creek Reservoir

Course Description: Start your kayaking adventures off right by learning essential paddling and safety skills on calm water. This comprehensive course will cover equipment, strokes, re-entries, bracing, paddling technique, and wet exits. Come ready to get wet and have a good time on this skill and confidence building class. After taking this class you will be allowed to rent closed deck sea kayaks from Outback Adventures. No experience necessary.

Location: Steven Creek Reservoir is a 92 acre non-powerboating reservoir, located in the foothills of Cupertino. The reservoir provides paddlers with peace and quiet, warm yet refreshing water, and abundant wildlife. These qualities combine to make Stevens Creek Reservoir a great kayaking destination.

Directions from San Jose: From San Jose take highway 280 north to Foothill Blvd. Head south on Foothill towards the hills, where it becomes Stevens Canyon Road. Wind your way up until Stevens Creek Reservoir becomes visible on your left. Park in the lot on the left side of the road and meet next to the large storage box located near the boat ramp. Parking passes can be purchased below the dam at the lower parking lot for a $5 fee.
