Are you ready for an open water kayaking experience in the San Francisco Bay? Well, pack your lunch and bring your adventurous spirit becasuse we will be paddling across one of the more active sailing channels in the San Francisco Bay. Get ready to see the majestic bay, the city of San Francisco, and the surrounding areas from a whole new perspective. Once on Angel Island, we will have lunch and take some time to relax and explore the island.
Designated as a State Park, Angel Island boasts a long history of many uses. Angel Island was once a Miwok Indian Village, a military installation site from the Civil War to the Cold War, and termed the "Ellis Island of the West" during 1910-1940.
Conditions permitting, a circumnavigation of the island provides an exciting view of the bay usually reserved for stronger groups. This kayak trip is appropriate for beginner and intermediate paddlers in good physical condition.

Prerequisites:
No previous experience required. Due to the location and variety of conditions, participants should be in good physical condition.
What to Bring:
- Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, lightweight pants, jacket)

- Sun hat and a warm cap
- Retainer straps for glasses
- Booties, water shoes, or sport sandals
- Consider bringing a tip for your instructor / guide for exceptional service

Directions to Dunphy Park in Sausalito
Directions from San Francisco
Take 101 North and take the Sausalito / Marin City exit which will put you onto Bridgeway heading South. Continue on Bridgeway until the road splits and is divided by a median. Pass up Harbor Drive and Marinship Way. Once the median ends you will see Napa Street. Take a left onto Napa Street, then veer right into a dirt parking lot and cul de sac. Dunphy Park's grassy feild is visible from Bridgeway just South of Napa Street. Meet your guide either in the parking lot or near the beach.
