Corte Madera Salt Marsh Ecological Reserve (Larkspur)
Come explore the wetlands along Corte Madera Marsh while taking in the views of Mount Tampalpais and the San Francisco Bay. We will paddle out in stable double sea kayaks while keeping our eyes open for the curious harbor seals that gather nearby. If conditions permit, we may take an optional side trip past the infamous San Quentin Prison, then stop for lunch on a nice sandy beach with incredble views.

Kayak and Explore Angel Island (Sausilito)
Let's pack our kayaks and take a real kayaking adventure to Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. While paddling the majestic Bay, take in the spectacular views of San Francisco, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo, and the East Bay areas. Designated as a State Park, Angel Island boasts a long history of many uses. Angel Island was once a Miwok Indian Village, a military installation site from the Civil War to the Cold War, and termed the "Ellis Island of the West" during 1910-1940. Conditions permitting, a circumnavigation of the island provides an exciting view of the bay usually reserved for stronger groups. This kayak trip is appropriate for beginner and intermediate paddlers in good physical condition.

Kayaking Bair Island and Corkscrew Slough (Redwood City)
Take an exciting tour of Bair Island Ecological Reserve and Corkscrew Slough and experience the serenity of being surrounded by a maze of waterways. On this kayaking tour, you will spend time exploring the many winding channels of the slough while observing many wetland bird species. This adventure is for those looking for a longer exploratory tour in a true slough environment.

Kayak Tomales Bay (Point Reyes)
Experience one the premier paddling destinations in California on this guided kayak tour. Wildlife abounds in this spectacular setting. Colorful sea stars slide beneath your kayak as majestic Thule Elk roam the hillsides. One of the largest protected bay and coastal areas in California, this kayaker's paradise is a short distance from San Francisco and the Bay Area. Launching from Nick's Cove, we will paddle in stable double sea kayaks, past Hog Island, to the White Cliffs of Tomales Bay, a unique geological formation similar to the White Cliffs of Dover. We will then stop for lunch on a pristine beach, accessible only by small watercraft. This kayak trip is appropriate for beginner and intermediate paddlers in good physical condition.

Marin Islands (Larkspur)
Join Outback Adventures friendly and experienced guides for this exciting trip out to East and West Marin Islands. Located about an hour’s paddle from our Larkspur headquarters, this federally protected marine sanctuary is home to a plethora of resident and migratory bird species, including the largest egret and heron rookery in the San Francisco Bay area. Because of it’s protected status, we won’t land on these beautiful islands, but we will snack at a sandy beach near the infamous San Quentin state prison before returning to port.

Red Rock Island (Point Richmond)
Join Outback Adventures for a bay paddle to historic Red Rock Island. Surrounded by some of the deepest water in the North Bay, 60 feet, this Island has the distinction of being the only privately owned island in the San Francisco Bay. Acutally located in three different counties, this 5 ½ acre landmark of the San Francisco Bay has quite a history. Did pirates bury treasure here? How are three different U.S presidents connected to its history? Find out as we paddle out and around the island from Point Richmond.

Rosie the Riveter (Point Richmond)
Paddle through history on an exclusive kayak tour of Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park. Representing six million American women who worked in munitions factories during WWII, Rosie The Riveter is now a cultural icon. Located in Richmond California, these historic Shipyards constitute the largest WWII shipyard operation in the U.S. Our knowledable guides will lead you on a tour of this National Historic Park from a unique perpective. Among the many highlights of this trip is a chance to paddle alongside the SS Red Oak Victory Ship.
