Trip Description: Paddle through history on an exclusive kayak tour of Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park. Representing six million American women who worked in munitions factories during WWII, Rosie The Riveter is now a cultural icon. Located in Richmond California, these historic Shipyards constitute the largest WWII shipyard operation in the U.S. Our knowledable guides will lead you on a tour of this National Historic Park from a unique perpective. Among the many highlights of this trip is a chance to paddle alongside the SS Red Oak Victory Ship. Awarded to the Richmond Museum of History by Congress in 1966, the Red Oak was stationed in Pearl Harbor from 1945 until the end of the war serving as an ammunition ship for other ships in the area.

the South (San Francisco)
Take Highway 101 North, and cross the Golden
Gate Bridge. At the first sign for the Richmond Bridge (and Sir Francis Drake),
exit 101 and bear right onto Sir Francis Drake. Follow Sir Francis Drake
until you reach Interstate 580. Travel East on 580 Crossing the Richmond
Bridge, and then exit Canal St. Drive South on Canal until you reach Cutting
St. Take a right on Cutting. A short distance will bring you to Garrard St.
Take a left and go through the tunnel. Park along the road just after the
tunnel, and meet on the beach to your right.

the North (Santa Rosa)
Take Highway 101 South until you reach interstate 580. Travel
East on 580 Crossing the Richmond Bridge, and then exit Canal St. Drive South
on Canal until you reach Cutting St. Take a right on Cutting. A short distance
will bring you to Garrard St. Take a left and go through the tunnel. Park along
the road just after the tunnel, and meet on the beach to your right.

the East Bay (Oakland area)
Take Interstate 580 West towards San Rafael. Before reaching the Richmond
Bridge,
exit Canal, and take a left. Drive South on Canal until
you reach Cutting St. Take a right on Cutting. A short distance will bring you
to Garrard St. Take a left and go through the tunnel. Park along the road just
after the tunnel, and meet on the beach to your right.
