Introduction to Snow Camping
You will come away from this two-day adventure knowing the basics of snowshoeing, snow shelters, avalanche awareness, diet, winter equipment, and more. You will find snow camping is a great way to find solitude and see some very beautiful places. Breakfast, dinner, and group camping equipment are included. Beginner to advanced backpackers ready for learning and adventure welcome.

Mountaineering Seminar
Get prepared this spring with this very comprehensive mountaineering course on Lassen Peak. This course covers crampon and ice axe use, self arrest, rope work, snow and ice belay techniques, recognition and prevention of altitude related illnesses, avalanche awareness, route selection, navigation, basic snow camping skills, safety, and much more. This three day course concludes with a summit attempt. This is a great course in preparation for Mount Shasta. Breakfasts, dinners, and group camping equipment are included.

Backcountry Ski Hut & Fundamentals
Experience one of the premiere spots for backcountry skiing in Northern California with incredible terrain, the best snow, and spectacular vistas. You will learn the fundamentals of backcountry skiing technique, and the risk management skills of avalanche awareness, route-finding and self-rescue. We will stay in the Meiss Hut, built in 1878, registered as a national historic site, and only accessible to privately guided parties. This is perfect for downhill and telemark skiers who want to learn backcountry fundamentals and improve their skiing technique.

Backcountry Snowriding
Lassen Peak: Experience the thrill of untouched backcountry powder and corn snow in this three day overnight course. You will practice with avalanche transceivers, and learn about avalanche awareness, winter camping skills, and safety. Snowboarders, randonee skiers, and telemark skiers welcome. Experienced downhill skiers will be introduced to randonee skiing. Breakfasts, dinners, and group camping equipment are included. Prerequisite: Strong intermediate snowriding skills.
