Mountaineering Seminar
Get prepared this spring with this very comprehensive mountaineering course on Lassen Peak. This course covers crampon and ice axe use, self arrest, rope work, snow and ice belay techniques, recognition and prevention of altitude related illnesses, avalanche awareness, route selection, navigation, basic snow camping skills, safety, and much more. This three day course concludes with a summit attempt. This is a great course in preparation for Mount Shasta. Breakfasts, dinners, and group camping equipment are included.
Backcountry Snowriding
Experience the thrill of untouched backcountry powder and corn snow in this 2 day overnight course. You will practice with avalanche transceivers, and learn about avalanche awareness, winter camping skills, and safety. Snowboarders, randonee skiers, and telemark skiers welcome. Experienced downhill skiers will be introduced to randonee skiing. Breakfasts, dinners, and group camping equipment are included. Prerequisite: Strong intermediate snowriding skills.
