Climb For Fun
Castle Rock State Park

Course Description: This adventure is for those who want to try outdoor rock climbing for the first time without the artificial indoor atmosphere. Throughout the day we will emphasis fun rather than the technical aspects of climbing. Climb easy to challenging rocks in a very safe setting. Great for friends, family, and group events. All ages are welcome.

What to Bring:

• Comfortable clothes for cold and hot weather
• Shoes or boots with good traction
• 2-3 quarts of water
• Food (sandwich, fruit, energy bars)
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Retainer straps for glasses
• Medium size backpack to carry your items
• Consider bringing a tip for your instructor / guide for exceptional service

Level: Recommended for beginners.

Time: 9:00 AM to approximately 3:00 PM

Outback Adventures Provides:

• All essential climbing gear.
• Safety equipment (helmets, etc.)
• Experienced, friendly guides

Directions from San Jose: From San Jose take Highway 85 north to the Saratoga Ave exit. Turn left (southwest) and follow the road through downtown Saratoga. Once in downtown Saratoga you will be on Highway 9. Continue on Highway 9 until you reach the stop sign at the summit. Turn left onto Skyline Blvd. Follow the road for a few miles. The park will be located on your right. Please allow yourself at least 40 minutes to get to Castle Rock after exiting Highway 85. Last food and gas is located in downtown Saratoga.

Meeting Place: Meet just outside the main parking lot at Castle Rock State Park. If you park in the parking lot you will have to pay a $6 day use fee.
