Coastal Kayaking Skills
A comprehensive class to develop your sea kayaking skills - Level 4
Start training for open water paddling along California's coastline. This class covers navigation, tides and currents, trip planning, open water re-entries, and other skills essential for safe paddling in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will also gain more experience paddling in the coastal environment, as well as refining more advanced strokes and boat handling skills. If conditions permit, a surf landing will also be in the plans.

Prerequisites:
Sea Kayaking Development class or equivalent
What to Bring:
- Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, lightweight pants, jacket)
- Water
- Lunch
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Sun hat and a warm cap
- Retainer straps for glasses
- Booties, water shoes, or sport sandals
- Consider bringing a tip for your instructor / guide for exceptional service

Covid-19 Precautions
- All participants will be screened for Covid-19 symptoms before participating.
- Paddling partners must be from a single family or household unit.
- We will have smaller than normal group sizes
- We encourage participants to social distance themselves while maintaining a part of the group.
- Masks must be worn on land and be accessible for occasional use on water when social distancing is not possible.
- All equipment will be cleaned/disinfected in accordance to EPA guidance.
- Accessory equipment may not be shared with others in the group.
- If you have your own kayaking equipment mentioned in the above list (except a kayak), we encourage you to bring it. This equipment must be approved by our guides.
- Except in cases of emergency, our guides may need to alter the way they assist participants to avoid close contact.
- Please no congregating before or after the tour with others at the site who are outside of your single family or household unit.
Directions to Bolinas
Directions from Santa Rosa
Travel South on Highway 101 until you reach mill valley. Take the Stinson Beach/Highway 1 exit and follow the signs to Stinson Beach. Continue North on Highway 1 through the town of Stinson Beach. Bolinas Lagoon will be on your Left. At the end of the Lagoon, take your first left onto an unmarked road. Bear Left at the yield sign onto Olema Bolinas Road. After a mile or so, you will come to a T-intersection. Take a Left and follow the road into town. Take a right on Brighton Ave and continue for 1/4 mile. You will see a tennis court on your right. The road dead-ends at the beach a couple hundred feet later. Meet here at road's end.Directions from San Francisco
