- Wear synthetic clothing rather than cotton (swimsuit, shirt, shorts, jacket, & warm cap)
- Water
- Snacks
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Sun Hat
- Retainer straps for glasses
- Booties, water shoes, or sport sandals
- Nose plugs or dive mask (optional, but helpful)
- Consider bringing a tip for your instructor / guide for exceptional service

Covid-19 Precautions
- All participants will be screened for Covid-19 symptoms before participating.
- Paddling partners must be from a single family or household unit.
- We will have smaller than normal group sizes
- We encourage participants to social distance themselves while maintaining a part of the group.
- Masks must be worn on land and be accessible for occasional use on water when social distancing is not possible.
- All equipment will be cleaned/disinfected in accordance to EPA guidance.
- Accessory equipment may not be shared with others in the group.
- If you have your own kayaking equipment mentioned in the above list (except a kayak), we encourage you to bring it. This equipment must be approved by our guides.
- Except in cases of emergency, our guides may need to alter the way they assist participants to avoid close contact.
- Please no congregating before or after the tour with others at the site who are outside of your single family or household unit.
Directions to Buck's Launching in San Rafael
Near China Camp State Park
Directions from San Francisco
Take Highway 101 North, and cross the Golden Gate Bridge and head towards San Rafael. Take the exit for N. San Pedro Road and head East. Continue on N. San Pedro Road. You will eventually come to a stop sign at Meadow Drive and you will see a 711 store on your right. Continue on N. San Pedro Road past the stop sign and East towards the Bay. At the top of the small hill just before continuing down towards the Bay, turn left for Buck's Launching. Follow the entrance signs for Outback Adventures. Please do not drive or park past the buildings on the left, but instead drive through the gated entrance on the right.
Directions from Santa Rosa
Take 101 South and take the exit for N. San Pedro Road. At the exit turn left which is the same direction for China Camp State Park and the Marin County Civic Center. Continue on N. San Pedro Road. You will eventually come to a stop sign at Meadow Drive and you will see a 711 store on your right. Continue on N. San Pedro Road past the stop sign and East towards the Bay. At the top of the small hill just before continuing down towards the Bay, turn left for Buck's Launching. Follow the entrance signs for Outback Adventures. Please do not drive or park past the buildings on the left, but instead drive through the gated entrance on the right.
Directions from Richmond
Take 580 West accross the Richmond / San Rafael Bridge towards San Rafael and merge onto 101N. Take the exit for N. San Pedro Road and head East. Continue on N. San Pedro Road. You will eventually come to a stop sign at Meadow Drive and you will see a 711 store on your right. Continue on N. San Pedro Road past the stop sign and East towards the Bay. Directions to Stevens Creek Reservoir in Cupertino
Directions from San Jose or San Francisco using 280
From San Jose take 280 North or from San Francisco take 280 South and exit at Foothill Boulevard. Go South on Foothill Boulevard towards the hills. Foothill Boulevard will eventually change names to Stevens Canyon Road. Wind your way up the hill for a short distance until Stevens Creek Reservoir becomes visible on your left. Turn left into the parking lot where parking passes may be purchased for $6.
Directions from South San Jose using 85
From South San Jose take 85 North and take the Stevens Creek Boulevard exit and turn left at the light heading West on Stevens Creek Boulevard. Turn left on Foothill Boulevard heading South towards the hills. Foothill Boulevard will eventually change names to Stevens Canyon Road. Wind your way up the hill for a short distance until Stevens Creek Reservoir becomes visible on your left. Turn left into the parking lot where parking passes may be purchased for $6.
Meeting Place: Meet next to the large beige storage container nearest to the boat ramp.
Directions to Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore
Directions from the South Bay using 680
Take 680 North to Highway 84 East towards Livermore. Follow 84 East for 5.4 miles and turn right on Vallecitos Road. Follow Vallecitos Road for 2 miles and make a right on Concannon Boulevard. Drive 2 more miles where the road dead ends at South Livermore Avenue, then turn right. Follow South Livermore Avenue for one mile then turn right onto Mines Road. Don't make any turns and Mines Road will turn into Del Valle Road. Continue on Del Valle Road and wind your way up the hill until you reach Del Valle Regional Park. The vehicle entrance fee is $6. Immediately after entering the park, make a right and park in the larger lot just behind the large lawn area. The Outdoor Sports Center is located on the beach in front of the lawn.
Directions from the East Bay using 580
Take 580 East towards Livermore and take the North Livermore Avenue exit. At the light, make a right on North Livermore Avenue. Continue driving for 3.7 miles then turn right onto Mines Road. Don't make any turns and Mines Road will turn into Del Valle Road. Continue on Del Valle Road and wind your way up the hill until you reach Del Valle Regional Park. The vehicle entrance fee is $6. Immediately after entering the park, make a right and park in the larger lot just behind the large lawn area. The Outdoor Sports Center is located on the beach in front of the lawn.
