Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour in Tomales Bay

A special bioluminescent kayak experience near Point Reyes

Have you ever dreamed of kayaking through glowing bioluminescent waters under a moonless, star-lit sky? Imagine every dip of your paddle creating a brilliant light show put on by living organisms beneath the water's surface. Let us make these dreams a reality by joining us for a Bioluminescence Kayak Tour on Tomales Bay! On this night kayak tour you may see fish or seals leaving a glowing trail of light everywhere they swim, or create your own light show in our stable double sea kayaks. This rare spectacle will be an adventure to remember.

The best times to observe the bioluminescence are on certain moonless nights during the spring, summer, and fall. Our trip planners only choose the most optimal nights to view the bioluminescence so your chances of seeing these sparkling organisms is very high. Our experienced kayak guides also know just where to find the most intense bioluminescent clusters in order to get the best light show possible. Since this phenomenon is only visible on a few special times a year and these trips book up quickly, you will want to register very early.

Bioluminescence Kayak Tour Cancellation Policies

Once you have completely booked your trip with Outback Adventures we agree to hold the number of registered spaces for you on a specific trip date. In return, we require that you agree to our bioluminescence kayak tour cancellation policies.

Cancellation Policies

In the interest of our clients and guides who are expecting to attend the scheduled trip and due to the amount of preparation and planning required, we have adopted a cancellation policy that limits short notice cancellations. A short notice cancellation can cause an entire trip to be cancelled due to its effects on minimum group size requirements. It can also negatively affect our potential clients who were told that they could not join the trip due to maximum guide to client ratios. Lastly, a short notice cancellation can affect the dedicated guides and instructors who have committed to being available for your trip. For these reasons, among others, we have the following cancellation policy:

Bioluminescence Kayak Tours: For a full refund less a $15 fee, cancellations can be made no less than 10 days prior to the scheduled trip date. No refund will be issued after the 10 day cancellation period has expired. However, if a cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior and up to 3 days before the trip date, the registered participants have the option to book another trip at half price. If you purchased your trip through one of our affiliates, please refer to their cancellation policies. Please see below for additional information.

Additional Details: Outback Adventures may need to cancel a trip due to minimum group size requirements, weather, or safety concerns. If Outback Adventures cancels for minimum group size requirements you have the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund. If Outback Adventures cancels due to weather or safety concerns, your trip will be rescheduled for a future convenient date.

Outback Adventures monitors various weather forecast sources and does its best to notify you ahead of time regarding possible weather conditions that may cancel the trip. However, due to weather forecast variability, real-time observations, and other safety concerns, occasionally we may need to cancel a trip just hours before the start time, onsite, or even after departure. If a trip gets cancelled due to weather, rest assured knowing that a more enjoyable event likely awaits your reschedule.
