Introduction to Rock Climbing

This local adventure is designed for those who want to learn how to rock climb outdoors or anyone just looking to experience the thrill of rock climbing. You don't need any previous experience or brute strength to try this adventure. Total beginners, intermediate gym climbers, and those looking for a refresher will all graduate from this course with long lasting skills and memories. Throughout the day you will get expert rock climbing instruction and a lot of climbing time. So go for it, and make the next move with Outback Adventures! Beyond Basics

Go beyond the basics with this informative rock climbing course designed for those who are ready to take the next step. In this class you will learn how to setup a basic top-rope anchor, rappel safely, and improve your climbing movement techniques. Our professional climbing instructors will provide valuable feedback while you push your climbing ability on challenging routes. This course is perfect for graduates of the Introduction to Rock Climbing class and for intermediate to advanced gym climbers looking to make the transition to outdoor rock climbing.

Anchoring Clinic

Learn the art of both constructing and analyzing top-rope and belay climbing anchors. Techniques for anchoring off of bolts, trees, and boulders are covered, as well as using cams, nuts and other removable hardware. This course is essential for people who have experience at indoor rock climbing gyms, and are thinking about climbing outdoors.

Learn To Lead

Climb your first lead routes in a safe and fun setting. This class will cover important aspects of leading traditional and sport climbing routes. Special emphasis will be put on the safe use of traditional gear, and all of your placements will be critiqued by the instructor. Other areas covered include runner and quickdraw use, clipping, lead belaying, and rope management. A top-rope belay will allow you to learn and practice your leading skills with confidence.

Rock Climbing Self Rescue Clinic

Being prepared for the unexpected is a critical part of being a safe rock climber. This intensive course will introduce such skills as alternative ascending, belaying and rappelling techniques, belay escapes, lowering and raising systems, rappel backups, and self-rescue strategies.
